I'm Colin. I live in Bozeman, Montana with my wife and two young kids. By day I'm a structural biologist working on small molecule drugs that target GPCRs, mostly via cryo-EM.
Outside the lab, I spend time with my family, or on the plains or in the mountains hiking and hunting. I like to tinker, especially with Linux more than is strictly necessary, write Bash and Python for problems a professional programmer would solve more elegantly, and try to read things that aren't papers.
This blog is somewhere between a lab notebook and a scratchpad. Expect the occasional post on GPCR and cryo-EM methodology - the practical stuff I wish someone had written down before I learned it the hard way - alongside notes on Linux as a working scientist, scripts that saved me time, and whatever else is on my mind. No promised cadence.
If something here is useful, good. If it's wrong, tell me.
